Tourists slam Gold Coast closures

Gold Coast Municipal Council is under fire from tourists for choosing this weekend to undertake several major construction projects that will mean closures of major tourist spots in the area.
Cavill Avenue, a central shopping road, will be off-limits to everybody except residents. All major beaches and nearby theme parks, including Dreamworld, will also be closed.
