The Federal Government and private sector will invest up to $43 billion over eight years in a super-fast national broadband network. In a shock decision this morning, the Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, announced that none of five bidders including Optus and Melbourne group Acacia for a national network were up to scratch.

Great new website for government and non-government schools to send home their school newsletters via email instead of using paper.
If all the public schools in NSW were to send home their school newsletter via email instead of paper, this would save over 60 million sheets of paper EACH year. That's a pile 6km high.
